Code that doesn’t quietly degrade when real users arrive.

I work on backends. The ones I care about most are the ones that still behave when real traffic finds them — the launch tweet, the integration partner, the unexpected Tuesday. Most of what I’ve shipped has been in fintech, where “mostly working” isn’t a position you’re allowed to hold.

Lately that has meant agents and retrieval. I’m interested in agents that do less, more reliably, than the demos promise — the part of the problem that doesn’t fit on a slide, and the part that has to keep working when nobody is looking at it.
